The Ontario High School Band Program
The Ontario High School band program is a vibrant program which offers concert band, marching band, jazz band, and pep band opportunities to Ontario High School students.Â
Â
The Ontario High School Band features 66 instrumentalists who participate in band year round. 91 students perform with the Warrior Marching Band, including 25 students who perform seasonally. Students who participate seasonally include instrumentalists who attend Pioneer Career and Technology Center during the school day, Majorettes, Golden Girls, and Royal Guard members.Â
Â
The Warrior Marching Band is proud to be a non-competitive show band that performs at all Ontario football games and at marching band festivals. The Warrior Marching Band performs a traditional pregame and an original halftime show at all home games. In addition to instrumentalists, the Warrior Marching Band features a majorette line, a kick line (Golden Girls), and a color guard (Royal Guard).
Â
Pep band opportunities start in December and continue through February. The Ontario Pep Band plays at a total of ten boy's and girl's home basketball games.Â
Â
Starting in the spring semester, the Ontario High School band splits into two groups. Symphonic Band is Ontario's auditioned concert band and participates yearly in OMEA Large Group Contest, in Class B. Concert Band is open to all enrolled band students at Ontario. In 2027, Concert Band will return to OMEA Large Group Contest, in Festival Class.Â
Â
The Ontario Jazz Band is a curricular, non- audition jazz band that performs big-band, funk, latin, and blues charts at band concerts and community events throughout the school year. 15-20 students participate in the Ontario Jazz Band each year.Â
