2026 Awards Given
The 2026 music awards were given out at the Spring concert on May 5th, 2026. There were four recipients of five band awards in the 2025-2026 school year.
The Louis Armstrong Jazz Award was created with the intent to honor an outstanding jazz musician on the high school level. 2026's winner of the Louis Armstrong Jazz Award was Jake DuChene.
The Director’s Award for Band was created to recognize a student who demonstrates exemplary dedication and conduct, and is presented in recognition of the student’s outstanding contribution to the ensemble. The 2026 winner Director’s Award for Band was Emma Henderson.
The Patrick Gilmore Award was introduced in 1994 in honor of the legendary bandmaster. The Gilmore Award honors an outstanding high school band student and their excellent musicianship, leadership, and commitment to the band. The winner of 2026's Patrick Gilmore Award was Madeline Saltzgiver.
The John Phillip Sousa Award for band represents the pinnacle of achievement in the high school band program. The winner of this year’s John Phillip Sousa award was Cloud Alexis Swank.
The winner of the Instrumental Music Department award receives a chord to wear with graduation attire and should be an exemplary instrumental musician. The winner of 2026's instrumental music department award was Jake DuChene.
